How to permanently disable automatic update feature in Widows 10?

Nowadays, a huge number of users have switched to the latest version of the OS. Windows 10 contains several improvements and updates over its predecessor, which is Windows 8.1. Security in Windows 10 has also improved over the past few years.

Microsoft has also released an “Auto Update” feature for Windows, which allows the system to automatically download and install a new update. This feature comes in handy if you don’t want to do a manual update every time. As useful as this feature is, some users are annoyed by the constant notification of system updates.

Steps to stop auto-updates in Windows 10

Windows 10 has the option to disable and pause updates on laptops and PCs. The latter option will allow the system to temporarily pause the update procedure so that you can complete the process without interfering with your work. So, if you want to turn off the automatic update feature on Widows 10, do the following:

Step 2. On the control panel, select the “Administration” option.

Step 3. Now you need to go to the Services tab and select the Windows Update option.

Step 4. Select the “Disabled” option in the “Startup Type” section and click the “Apply” button to disable the “Auto Update” function.

The above steps are the first way to disable this feature. However, on some laptops or PCs, you may need to follow some other steps to turn off automatic updates.
